The contractor invoice app that works on the job site
A contractor invoice app has one job on site: get the paperwork out before you drive away. Invoice One turns the estimate you already sent into the invoice, puts the photos of the work on it, takes the signature on the phone and sends a real A4 PDF — with no office, no laptop and no signal needed to make the document.
The estimate becomes the invoice
You quoted the job before you started it. When it is done, convert that estimate into an invoice in one tap: the line items, the prices and the client come across, and the two documents stay linked so you can open one from the other. Nothing is typed twice and nothing drifts between the quote and the bill.
Deposits up front, the balance at the end
Most jobs are not paid in one go. Record the deposit against the invoice when it lands and the document shows what is left: the balance due updates, the status reads partially paid, and the PDF the client gets states both figures. You always know which jobs still owe you money without keeping a second list.
Photos of the work, on the invoice itself
A contractor argues about scope more often than about price. Attach photos of what you found and what you left, with a line under each saying what it shows, and they print after the document on the same PDF. The record travels with the invoice instead of sitting in your camera roll.
A signature before you leave
Hand the phone over and have the client sign the completed work with a finger. The signature, their name and the date print on the document. For a change the client asked for on the day, that signature is the cheapest evidence you will ever collect.
Sales tax the way your state states it
Set one rate, or split it into the lines your jurisdiction requires — state, county, city — and each prints separately with its own amount. Mark labour non-taxable where your state does not tax it, and leave a tax-exempt client's certificate number on their record so their invoices carry it.
Get paid without chasing
Put a payment address on the invoice and it prints as a link and a QR code the client can point a camera at. Connect your own Stripe or Square account and each invoice carries a link for its own amount, so the payment lands already matched to the job.

The estimate becomes the invoice
You quoted the job before you started it. A contractor invoice app for clearly defined stages
A contractor invoice app should make clear which part of a job each bill covers, especially when the work spans several visits. Name the stage in the line descriptions and say what is included: preparation, installation or the final work agreed with the client. If extra work was requested, describe it separately from the original scope. A deposit is a payment towards an invoice; it does not describe how much of the physical work has been completed.
Invoice One gives each invoice its own number, due date and payment records. You can add a fixed or percentage discount and use the notes for the scope of that stage. When duplicating an earlier bill, the items and instructions carry over but its payments do not. Review the copied quantities before sending. For work priced in advance, conversion also carries the estimate’s notes and discount into the new invoice.
Features
Send estimates, get them accepted, bill them
A job usually starts with a number, not an invoice. Invoice One writes that number as a proper estimate, tracks the answer, and turns the yes into an invoice without you typing anything twice.
Invoice signatures and photos of the work
Collect invoice signatures on the spot by handing the phone over, and put the photos that prove the work on the same document. Both print with the invoice, so the paperwork is finished before you leave the site.
Track invoice payments, down to the cent
Record invoice payments as they land — in full or in part, with the method and the date. The balance follows by itself, and the home screen adds it all up. Nothing has to be set by hand: the invoice knows when it is settled and when it is late.
US sales tax and your price list
US sales tax as separate state and county lines, exempt clients with their certificate number, and a catalog of what you charge so the same price never gets typed twice.
FAQ
Can I invoice from a site with no signal?
Yes. The document is made on the phone, not on a server, so the PDF exists whether or not you have a bar of signal. It syncs when you are back in range.
Does it handle progress billing?
It handles it the way most one-person shops do: invoice for the stage you finished, record the payment against it, and the balance due follows. There is no automatic draw schedule.
Can I reuse a job I do often?
Duplicate any invoice and it comes back with the same lines and prices, ready to change the date and the client.
